Submitted by John Zuchelli
Wednesday, August 25th, 11:22 am

SAN LUIS OBISPO- Rianna is a cancer survivor. When she was 1 ½
years old she was diagnosed with Wilm’s Tumor. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and
her left kidney. She then went through chemotherapy for 6 months. Over the next few
years Rianna and her family traveled back and forth to Lucile Packard
Children’s Hospital at Stanford in Palo Alto. Rianna and her family spent
several weeks at Ronald McDonald House while Rianna was in the
hospital and while she was undergoing chemo on an outpatient basis.
She received tremendous love and support from family, friends, and co-workers.

Today, Rianna is 17 years old. She has lived cancer?free since 1995,
and we believe she will continue to do so! However, in May of
2009, Rianna was diagnosed with kidney failure/chronic kidney
disease. She is currently at end stage renal failure.
